long gone are the days when you could tell the artist by the first few notes of a song....they had a particular sound. today they all sound the same....almost like one continuous song all day long.
its a shame that earl never got the accolades that he deserved...brilliant song writer. I wore out a cassette my dad bought "Don't Make It Easy for Me" my fav song on that was "crowd around the corner."
a few years down the road his song " what i'd say" really hit home with me..........it still holds meaning for me today................even though i'm happily married and a grand dad now. a mans greatness is truly measured until after hes gone.
Stand by your principles, Stand by your guns, and victory complete and permanent is sure at last. Abraham Lincoln

I'm a metal and hard rock guy but i remember clearly this song. My buddy played a lot of older country in his truck when I rode with him, and I remember this song for some reason. So earl, you made an impression.
RIP earl.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Wrong guy.
John Conlee. Eady to get confused, had John Conlee, Earl Thomas Conley, and Con Hunley all charting at the same time.
