I talked to guy that hunted them over there he said it's nothing to see mangy ones next to the roads. Has anyone ever heard of any kind of Conservation programs that established there? You would think they have some department overlooking the wildlife.

I thought this part of the article was really funny.

"The local said the fox was acting lethargic before it collapsed and hadn't moved in days, according to a news release from the animal organization obtained by Fox News.

Rescuers asked the Good Samaritan to attempt the "broom test" with the fox to see if it was still alive, and they "were told that it didn't move but tracked them with its eyes and seemed to be breathing well."

200 mile away rescue for the animal....is that not 1/2 way across Britain they sent someone.
Wonder how much money the Spca raised with that new article from donations is the scary part.

I remember hearing that there was a huge number of fox attacks on babies and toddlers in England, some of them fatal. Apparently many English people leave their doors open and foxes go in and grab babies to eat.

Without trapping and hunting, predators quickly lose their fear of man. I found this news article:

"There are about 30,000 foxes in urban areas, with about 10,000 in London.

What are the most recent reported attacks?
Three-year-old Heidi Cooper was bitten in her bed by a fox that crept into her bedroom in South East London.
A 22-year-old woman suffered six puncture wounds after being bitten on the bicep in Clapham, South West London
A baby was bitten by a fox after it got into her family home in Plymouth
A fox was spotted carrying a human hand in Glasgow close to where missing grandmother Julie Reilly was last seen. A murder investigation is under way
Gran wakes in the night to find a fox sinking its teeth into her arm after it got in through a catflap
A toddler was rushed to hospital in south London after a fox bit him on his heel as he slept""

This article talks about British twin babies mauled by a fox in their house.

https://www.bbc.com/news/10251349

What possible good could have come from saving a dangerous animal, that no longer has any value in Britain?

Keith

When I lived there we shot a bunch of foxes that had flee colors on them. Turns out the tree huggers catch them in the London suburbs, check them out, give them the shots for distemper etc. Like ya would with stray cats. The drive them near 100 miles into the area where I lived and let them loose. Some didn't make it as those flea colors don't grow with them. So when they put it on a younger fox, they tend to run out of puff when they grow out of it. Some farmers around my area there bread pheasants for the fall hunts. Foxes were not all that welcome and we gave them shots as well ... usually of the 22-250 medication type.
