What are the things you all think make a great one?

Personally, I like a thinner crust, alot of meat and good cheese.
I always try to add a pile of sweet peppers also. Suated onions are a bonus.
I like my crust a bit more done than most but not burnt.
Toppings I like a real good dark brown.
When the crust is near the desired doneness, I turn on the broiler to get the toppings right.

chef boy r de double pizza mix. make both crusts at once. put on standard round pizza pan. cook for 10 minutes. take out of oven and add your toppings, sauce and cheese. cook 10 minutes.. pizza joints are too far away from me, it would be cold before I got it !

A thick wheat crust so i can put honey on it, just like a desert. "Bo jo's mountain pies" idaho springs colorado. Now it is all one joint , micro brew pub. Or it was in 09' home of tommy knocker beer.

Ever been to Pizza Rev? Like a Subway for pizza you pick your own toppings, as much as you want, they send it thru the oven for you. Takes about 10 minutes. I go half bbq sauce with chicken, bacon ect and the other half tomato sauce and pile it high with everything. Best ive had.

Has to have a great sauce!

Great sauce, dough and cheese is a must on all great pizzas.
Give me a pizza joint and if they can't make a great margarita it instantly downgrades.
My favorite is wood fired pizza.

Not a what but a who,...Sammys sausage pizza hands down!
There is a joint in Hackensack that has a chicken /bacon ranch that rates right up there.

I’m sure a paul will agree with my answer. Brooklyn’s Pizzeria in Goldsboro. Thin crispy crust not overloaded with toppings but just the right amount. Seems like druggies make the best pizza.

A melted block of cheese with some bread under it.

Thin crust and minimal toppings, new York style.

Red pepper flakes, parmesan cheese and hot sauce will make any pizza edible, for me anyway. I do like Italian sausage on my pizza too.

I like the New York style too, and that's how they make pizzas here in Europe, but with some different toppings than you'd see in the states. I like one with sauce, cheese, black olives and fresh garlic.

I had a customer in CA who owned a Chicago style pizzeria that won awards every year. He and his wife always gave shares to their employees who stayed and now it is 100% employee owned with 8 locations. Chicago style is more like eating a cake than a NY pizza, but I sure enjoyed the few I ate. Not exactly a healthy food choice but after a softball game with a few pitchers of beer.....
