Strike we've had 2 weeks of warm weather in the 60s-70s but it was 32 and snowing this morning. Supposed to be back in the 60s by Wed so don't think it hurt the mushrooms at all with the warm ground temps we've had. Hopefully you'll get some soon

Matt I noticed the creek in the background, do you find most of yours on creek banks and river bottoms? Here in east Tenn we have so much different habitat, have some river bottoms and steep hardwood mountains and everything in between, seems I find them about in every situation but some spots just produce and others don't. I wish I understood these things better. Lol I just pit a lot of miles on my boots and eventually find them

Yea we don't have many elms in the mountains here but the 35 I found this evening were all under a huge popular tree that was about half dead. Also find a lot under Apple trees and ash trees and some Sycamore

Roan Mountain is a beautiful place, been thru there several times, stayed over in Seven Devils NC last fall a few nights in a cabin. I was in Elizabethton back in football season, my kid played varsity football and we had a scrimmage over there.

Im a big fan of Sycamore trees, find them in poplars and Elm but for some reason I have more faith around the Sycamores.
