Were heading up to Alaska tomorrow morning. Going up through Anchorage then on down to Seward and Homer. Does anyone know of anyplace I might find small gas drums ?? Would be interested in either 16 or 30 gallon drums. Thanks

You could try Unitec in Anchorage. Not sure what style you’re after. Personally I love the 15 gal cube drums. Short piece of line on the handle makes them easy to drag around.

The only style I've ever seen is the small steel drums. The ones you reference sound like they would be perfect. Where would I find those and do you have any pictures ? Thanks a lot!

I think these are 16 x 16 x 20”H . Paid about $75 each but that was quite a while ago. Got mine here in Homer so I’d expect better price in ANC. 3/4” pipe nipple with a short length of hose for the small bung is how I pour.

Use to be you could get the blue round poly ones pretty much anyplace even Cabelas had em for awhile. I prefer the round ones over the cubes as I can grab em by the handels and move them around. I use to toss em on my shoulder to pack but the cube handle is not enough room to get your hand in there so you pretty much have to use a rope and not near as easy to maneuver IMO Last I knew the cubes were up to $100 here not sure about Anchorage prices

But the cubes do pack better into an airplane. I prefer the round ones for use in the boat

Agree on the round, blue 15's. I scored about 20 of them a few years ago for free. I took them all, but way more than I needed, so called mad_mike. He took them all! I still fill one or two up, now and then!

Made it almost 3 years without censor!

Western Auto in Juneau has the 5 gal. white ones with a single bung.
Use to pay about $15 for one.
