...the roof didn't collapse in amazement.
Nice little service. Our son is the church music director, so we got to watch him sing and play guitar.
My wife and I were there to see our seven-year-old grand-daughter baptized. Full immersion. She took the pledge to Jesus.
She stuck it out like a trooper, only kicked once when her daddy shoved her head under. Then came up with a big smile on her face.

Good for you James! Always commendable for one to support family. X2 I am sure it meant something for you to be there for her.

Nothing better than that. Well. maybe one thing, you could have joined her in accepting Jesus as your savior.

Not all of us buy into all phases of the Christian religion.
James' story pretty much aligns with my own. I made sure my son's got a religious education, regardless of my own (non)beliefs. Most would call me a hypocrite. Still, I consider myself to be a "Christian" due to the morals taught by Christ. As for the supernatural, miracles, creation and afterlife, I have a long way to go.
I strongly support all the true believers, and make sure I attend all those landmark celebrations in their lives.

Hal always sucks in comparison.
Thanks for the nice thoughts, guys. My own views are like T-Rex's, though I didn't raise our son in religion. His mother is a cultural Buddhist, as I am a cultural Christian. Our son found Jesus on his own.
My parents are pretty religious, but none of my brothers are. We have a saying that religion skips generations in our family.

Our son found Jesus on his own. Not to quibble...Jesus did the searching. I'm a Calvinist.

T-Rex, just something to chew on.
Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important. C.S. Lewis
Unfortunately many who call themselves "Christians" try to live a life where their Christian faith is of moderate importance. This will lead to a life of hypocrisy, frustration, and pain.
