Hope Lazarus chimes in. I don't think he meant high moisture fermented alfalfa, sorgum and other "grass" crops that are actually haylage. In fact I'm pretty sure he even posted about using dry lawnmower cutting. Ditto for grass hay chaff.

I just run dried field grass through the shredder vac. I think the big thing is that it's chopped up. I never used it in a trapping set, but I can see why it would work.

I have used grass clippings a lot in the past. Those work fine. I now just pick up two or three bales of hay, put it out, spread out a bit, and mow back and forth. When it gets cut down about the right side I bag it up in those duck decoy bags that sort of look like expanded metal but made of some fabric. I hang them in the green house to dry.

I use the same bags do you dry the grass or just hang them up to dry in the bag ? I'm trying just hanging the bag this year
