Just finished these yesterday was running low on sawdust to finish tumbling so i called up an old retired tanner that used to do hides for taxidermy to see if he had any i could buy off him ,,he said all he had was some bran flour but it cleans up oils in the fur nicely just to make sure they werent to wet to start with ..they came out nice a fluffy
Never heard of using Bran flour for tumbling ..any of u guys ever used it ?

Straight.... Bran...not bran flour. The bran flour is used in the making of dog food and binding it together , You may be able to find some at the Red Deer dog food plant, but they do use a lot of rice bran there.
When I worked for a mill, the odd bag was sampled, what did you use as a solvent ?

Close -up with your fingers in the fur would show some on here what a Western Heavy Coyote really looks like, and what cleaning does.

Doing a coyote myself now. Yours look very nice! Good job.

When using the bran, how much bran and how much camp fuel?

I trap for fun. I skin 'em for the money!
