I've talked to a couple of different vets that were in that fire fight. They said they would have been happy to have not shot so many Somalis that day. But the Somalis wouldn't stop shooting at them so they shot back...

I wonder how Rep Omar and her constituents would react if someone were to publicly insult the "prophet" Mohammed the way she insulted the person of Jesus Christ. Somehow I don't think they would be so kind in their respect for another's right to freedom of speech.

I don't suggest that gives anyone an excuse to suppress their right to free speech. But we certainly have just cause to be offended, disgusted, and insulted by her and her comments.

Rep. Andre Carson of Indiana is another Muslim in congress. I used to live in his district until I moved out of Indiancrapolis. He announced that he had converted to Islam about two months AFTER he was elected to Congress. He doesn't have as much of a big fat mouth like this Omar does. But they are birds of a feather, that's for sure.

1,000s of Somalis killed by Americans that day ??

That's a new one on me, since all the MH-60K SOA Blackhawks were all built/prepped and flown out of the same assembly line/hangar where I was assigned to the H-53E program.

One night, we had about a dozen, dozen and a half L model Blackhawks, maybe some A's too... anyhow they were flown in around 2200 hrs and had the blades pulled [main and I believe tail...] for the sake of having erosion protection applied on the leading edges of the blades, also armor floors were installed.

I remember looking at the personal, young men and yes, a couple of women too... and everyone had a very serious expression.
Once they all left when the work they came in for was completed, I found an ARMY cap with a Sargent emblem - actually - a pin - mounted on the front dead center.

I kept it, and to this day I always wondered if that individual made it back alive... as there was no name in it.

And that's my point: these (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) politicians should be forced to see what our troops have to endure during these kinds of conflicts and also their kids should have to serve as well.

*of interest, tail number #13-20624 which went down in Florida on 10 MAR 15 was my aircraft once I became an inspector, and I gained 25 lbs while agonizing over the pictures of the lost personal on board, praying to God that I did not miss something - as that was a new aircraft when it crashed - and it turned out to be weather conditions which brought that particular aircraft down.
