The lenght of one segment is about 3/4 to 1 inch long the diameter is about the size of a small tootsie roll segment. It isn't porcupine.

Thanks Les, and it sure could be fox. I have tried to research it before and I can't seem to come up with a picture that I could ID it from. I find it on trails not often but once in a while. Does anyone think it could be weasel?

I think your estimated size is too big for a weasel and mink poo doesn't look like that. As Les said, its looks more k-9. What kind of fox do you have up there in your area...?Any swifts...?

Looks foxy. As far as not many Reds, I was shooting a ranch in your country many years ago and hadn't seen much if any fox sign. A good old fella showed up to set a string of coyote traps first off right down the main ranch roads. He picked up 7 reds the first night. Little buggers can be pretty inconspicuous.

Segmented scat usually points to It being from a cat.
The name of the poster Big Brownie and scat just seem to go to gather. No offence taken I hope. LOL
