In the south central Pa Mounta...
I went out this morning but the wind wouldn’t die down at all so I said to myself the heck with it and went home. Besides I’m not feeling the best today my stomach is grumbling today.

Same high winds here grayfox. I try to call when the wind dies down every 15 or 20 minutes, can’t hear anything with this wind!

My current situation:

[Linked Image]

I hunted/scouted about a hundred acres this morning and saw no sign of turkey. It’s pretty hit or miss here at home. There are turkeys in the area but limited places to hunt them. So if they are not on the farms I have permission to hunt I am pretty much out of luck.

I will get more serious about turkey hunting after next week when I head up to my camp in North Central PA where I have access to around 15,000 acres.

Eh...wot?

Plenty of days to hunt this season, I'll go out when the wind isn't howling and warmer out.

I took one out to thaw, a real traditionalist lol.
Clear and real windy over here.

Dang wind uncovered my best wood and rain soaked it.
Looks like two nights of stove burning coming up.

Coalbank has a couple birds near him. grin

Last week in Joisey I saw four two-year-olds together and thought it odd that they were grouped up and not fighting each other for hens.

Freezing my rear off here in NW pa. Yep wind is nasty. Actually heard a couple gobbles from roost. Didn't come my way and I didn't call much. Just trying to feel it out. Not sure how much longer I can hunker down .

Trying. Not sure of their habits yet this year. Have had cams watching a strutting area all month. So far only pics of a few single hens. Half expect to see them March through anytime. About another 20 minutes and I'm calling it.

Picked up a nasty spring cold. Stayed in bed this morning for the first time on opening day in several years. You boys and your wind/snow stories are sure making me feel better though.
