coalminer OP trapper C Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,606 Pa	Got bout a dz old rods n reels at yard sale, really dirty n greasy. Want to clean them up but not damage the finish, thinking Simply Green. Any other ideas. My heart belongs to my family. My body belongs to my work. My soul belongs to the woods.

You will not be able to truly clean them unless you take them apart at least to the point of exposing all the parts. Then use the same method and use an old tooth brush or a stiff small brush of some sort. "Skin that smokewagon and see what happens"
