I had a pair of La Cross heavy duty black and yellow hip boots that lasted for years, they were so heavy that they would nearly stand upright by themselves. Most durable hip boots I've ever seen.

Tough to do nowdays you got to go try them on and judge for yourself I know nobody carries a selection anymore but what fits one person and is great for their use may not work for you my son can step into my lacrosse knee boots and doesn't even stop walking I have a hard time getting them on and harder time taking them off and their size 13 what he takes and 2 sizes bigger then what I take

Never fold them. Hang them by the feet, upside down and keep out of sunlight when not in use.. Good point. Ranger hip boots were the toughest I've ever owned. The last two pair I got from Cabela's leaked at the seems near the ankle after just two seasons.
