It’s depends how cold you are lol, but no... I’m sick and tired of scrambling in the fall.. normally I do 30-35 face cord for my sister and i.. I got all that wood for fee.. 4 Tri axle loads.. plus what i had... new neighbors down the road had a cell tower put in on there property.. all the logs where piled up there.. she told me I can have them.. I called a log truck to truck them to me.. figured I hammered away until I get it all done or I have to go back to work. I’m just a squirrel who found a nut lol

I like to cut and split wood. Did a couple cords last year. The only thing is I haven't had a wood burner in 20 years. Did last years pile for a buddy of mine.

And I thought I do a lot putting up 35 face cord per year.

I cut the rest of it yesterday up... started at 630am, went until 630pm... stright through... broke off around noon to go (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) in a cup for the back to work wizz quiz. Lol. Burnt through over a gallon of bar and chain oil.. funny the people driving by rubber necking... the pile is next to the road ... told my wife one of these days a car is going to end up in my wood spliter ha... now it’s a game to me how high can I get the pile i figure it around 14 foot tall. This is what I got left... I figured for every 4 hours I cut it takes 8 hour to split.

One of my buds is the exact opposite! His house is surrounded by woods, he'll fool around till about the first of November, and only have a truck load of wood. It happens every year. He'll give me a call about 2 weeks before buck season. "Hey, come up to the house Saturday morning about 9, we'll have sausage and buckwheat cakes. We'll cut the brush out of the roads, maybe cut a little jag of firewood." We'll talk for a little bit, then he'll say: Make sure you bring your saws, I've got plenty of gas mixed up. lol

Yes, you read that right, my house is around 2000 square feet with a combo wood stove hooked to a blower. My sisters is around 4000 square feet hooked to a combo boiler. That’s up stairs and down stairs. We also both have full basements.. I’ll also have a heated garage

Or it’s switch to propane... witch we both can do with flick of a switch

I have 2,000 sq ft with the basement. I do about 3 cords. I would start wearing wool socks or something if I were you.

That’s it 3 cords lol, and it heats your hole house? Must not get to cold down there... I start burning around November and can still be burning now but I usually switch middle of April... I’m on the Lake Erie ridge up here we get blasted with snow and cold... my house is well insulated.. blown in

I imagine your winters are far worse.

My house is well insulated. I lived in a two story farmhouse growing up. No insulation. I wore out a splitting maul.

I decided buying insulation was easier than splitting firewood.

Two things in life I hate paying heat bills and cable bills

Never payed a heating bill. Sometimes I wonder if I am doing things the right way. My sons are learning hard work if nothing else I guess.
