[Linked Image] brand new right out of the bag
[Linked Image] top view set without mods
[Linked Image]side view set without mods loose jaw needs adjusting to get setting on both levers and level
[Linked Image] reset after adjusting the loose jaw sits a lot better now
[Linked Image] filing marks on pan where it catches the jaw. stamped metal is not exact but is not bad this helps with pan travel and crispness of trap or so it seems to anyways
[Linked Image] had to tweek the levers a good bit to get the jaw level but no big issue

All in all it was very simple to set up and the pan tension out of the box was 4lbs +- and when i finished it was around 3 lbs. and very crisp without a much pan travel. I am somewhat of a minimalist when working with new traps i haven't used. I have found myself going to far into working and fixing things that the trap worked better from the get go than whatever i created. I ended up going through 18 of these last night and a dozen 1.5's as well and didn't take to much time. For the money I am very pleased.

Guys, your not going to get an out of the box ready to set 'em from anybody without paying somebody to make them that way. Even then they're probably not tuned to everybody's satisfaction. Heck, I adjust MB traps to just how I want them.
The longer I do this the more I'm moving away from paying the MB premium and buying the base trap and building what works for me. I'll be buying some of these and a mig welder, wish me luck on learning to weld.

Ok how do these traps compare In price to other similar sized traps?

Are these traps American made?

Duke states free shipping with a $100.00 purchase.

I have no doubt these traps would work out just fine for those that purchase them.

Bridger #2 dogless DC OS which is similar but certainly not the same is $13 through FNT and i think these are $7 each the way i bought them. Almost half price really. #3's are $8.25 each by the dozen. Mine are stamped made in China i believe. I ordered mine and got free shipping and received them in 2 or three days to Wyoming.

I have a couple handfuls of 1.5s. Seem like a decent trap for the money. If I could do it all over again ida bought some of these and spent more money on a better fleshing knife.

I would take a Wolf Creek #2 offset over a Bridger #2 offset any day. For some reason when the Bridger company changed hands they decided to increase the offset to 1/4”. My Wolf Creek #2s have a 3/16” offset which I prefer for mixed canine trapping.

Glenn needs to get the Northwoods #1.75 copy on the market. That was a very popular trap in its time.
