Does anybody use Wolf Creek 1.5 coil spring traps? If so what do you honestly think of them? I'm thinking about ordering a couple dozen of them & would like to hear any feed back on them. Thanks

I haven't used the 1 1/2 coils but I have bought some DP's and anchors off of Wolf Creek. Glenn is a great guy, I think he goes by ohio on here if ya want to PM him.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I don't honestly think they've gotten around yet for guys to evaluate .I like the looks of their No.2 dogless, used to love the No. 2 Montgomery dogless which they're patterned from.

OK nobody's used any or held any of the vWolf Creek trap in hand? I'm just wanting to know if all the traps will need tweaking to get them to set level or are they pretty good right out of the box? Also I there are any rough spots that I will need to hit with a file.

from what I seen a little file work and bending would be needed maybe since then they don't but a good serviceable trap for the price

Fur Shed Fabrications did some really nice mods on the 2's. Ask Josh for his thoughts.

Kind of an older thread not sure if anyone is still interested but here goes. I just purchased a few traps from Wolf Creek. I really like the 1.5's. They are identical to the old 1.5 northwoods which i ran for years and loved them. They all need a once over tweaking wise out of the box but every 1.5 i have ever bought has for that matter. Good strong and simple design really. They will do just fine for me on my line and the price was something that left the conversation a lot easier with the wife about needing new gear. Glenn (Ohio screen name on T-man) has always returned my messages and called me personally a couple times to get my order right and to answer any questions i have had. I am big on customer care and will likely just continue to use his traps simply because he called me. I can catch fur with them and that's what i need and if it in turn helps him out as well then that is the way i like to keep it really. I also have some of his dp's and #2 dogless traps as well. I like them all and the price like i said is a no brainer for a public land trapper like me.

I am really interested in their #3 dogless traps. Curious on pan tension and how they would hold up.

The dogless traps are modeled exactly after the old Montgomery dogless design. Pan tension is adjusted basically by how you set the trap up and how you file the face of the pan and trap itself to release. That is if you file them at all. I have a bunch of the #2's and it took me a second to realize i was putting way more thought into getting it perfect rather than just cleaning the trap up and using it. Once i cleaned them up and set everything level they were basically exactly how i wanted them. I am going to check tonight what the poundage on the pan tension is but it feels right to me. I don't really have a set number i use but if it feels righ it must be good lol

I have no experience with the 1.5s, but I bought a dozen #2 dogless last year and caught coyotes with them. They look like a Northwoods trap with a Montgomery dogless pan system. I think they are well built and stout. Some of the pans needed tweaking to level, but no more than others brands with the same system. The jaws are really sharp (like the old Northwoods) and that was where I spent a lot of time with a file. About half of the j hooks were not completely closed, but that was an easy fix. I think they are well worth the price.

Hello all, You can get them from www.wolfcreekproducts.net or just go through me.
I just wanted to add a little history here.
The first traps i made where all copies of the Northwoods except the #1. They are pretty much exact copies.
When i wanted to go to a dogless model i took that Northwoods design and added the Montgomery dogless design.
The Northwoods levers come up higher than Montgomeries did so that is why i did that.
I am trying hard in this rough fur time to keep the price down. You may have to tweek a little but everything i do adds cost.
Thank You and if you have any questions feel free to get ahold of me.

Jeff, I think I bought some #1s from you. Just needed slight tweaking as you said. Great little muskrat trap.

Was going to order and saw the freight shipping cost is $25 to Nebraska so I hesitated. Your weasel traps look nice though, too.
