Vinegar has a wide variety of uses. A cleaning agent, a digestive aid, a food supplement and who knows what else. I cant see how it would not be an ingredient in lures or baits if one would wish to do so. It is a natural occurring material and is pleasant as to its odor.

Thanks Bob , I’ve got about a gallon or so of bait that I made last year that is moldy on top. If I scrape the mold off the top would you think I can save it with vinegar, or should I stick with the chemical inhibitors ?

there is an apple orchard not far from me that ive trapped a few times. seems like everything, coons possums deer and coyotes like the apples that end up on the ground best after they freeze. not while ripe hanging on the tree. they ferment some first.

never used apple cider vinegar. if it were me I would freeze that bait to stop any more mold with just a small amount saved back to try the vinegar in. if it works great and if it doesn't you have plenty left

My thoughts was to try the vinegar in my bait jar( about a quart) and order some chemical. I’ve made several concoctions of my own over the years this being my most successful. Second best seems to be one with fermented apple !
