So I don’t know what to call it...What got me thinking about posting this is members on here have spoke about using used cat litter as an attractor for bobcats...

About a year ago I collected all the cat turds my mouse cat provided for me..Dumped them in a 5gallon bucket about half full and added water and a lid...I actually forgot about it until the other day, so I opened the lid and oh it’s smells catty...My thought was to use it around a few areas where cats travel through and see how they react...Now I’m sure this has been done before, I have to think it’s a good thing?

Anyone have an opinion?

a can of jack mackerel and some castor ground into a paste with glycerin will catch as many cats as you can find.

I bet...
I have lots of bobcat lures and such that are very good...Just figured this was free large quantity and maybe would work as a locator or might get cats to visit after they find it...idk

A bucket of dog turds will bring coyotes around. Not what I'd call a "go to" set, but it works. I've had snaring areas go stale and after dumping a bucket full of turds, always catch a couple right after that. This spring I dumped 2 buckets full where I was trapping beaver, next check, they both had a fresh coyote turn on top.

I believe it was tom Krause that wrote years back about what he called foxarrhea. he collected fox turds and mixed it with fox urine. let it rehydrate if turds are dry, then stir into a heavy black pasty texture. he used this as a gland type attractant. maybe the same would work with your house cat turds and some bobcat urine from a supply dealer, w/o watering it down. just a thought.

Apparently your cats turds and my cats turds smell completely different. My cats scat will gag a seasoned veteran.

The wife keeps beating me to the litterbox. I'm beginning to wonder if she doesn't have a lure making business on the sly.

I have always removed bobcat turds from last several inches of cat's gut. Usually end up with about a quart of turds seasonally. Let em soak for a while in bobcat bladder urine then mix them up into a paste. You cant buy that catty smell. Works excellent on coyotes too.

I have also taken the turd paste and mixed it with good lures.......makes lure go further and works very good. Have also done this with coytote turds. Talked about doing this on tman b4 and couldn't believe how many folks said I was messing up the lure by doing this.......what a crock! I'm catching critters with it....not eating it.

Years ago (back in the70s) I started using house cat droppings on fox that had been sharpened up a bit. Then I got to mixing cat dropping with bobcat urine making a nice slug. It makes a nice change up for canines that have been worked over.

I'm guessing the odor gets the best of her. It's not even our cat, we more or less adopted it. Our neighbor got the cat seven or eight years ago when we first moved here and she neglected it from day one. She decided she didn't want a housecat so we ended up feeding it and it sleeps in our enclosed porch. It never makes it inside the house...the wife has a parrot. She won't risk it.

It seems like I get cat pics at will and I can't wait to try out our revolutionary slurry. I'll be happy to give you all the credit, I just want an honorary mention. Turd on!

Came upon this cow when I was pulling cards this morning. Missed a turkey. Maybe tomorrow.

Lol enjoy playing with your slurry...I’ll be testing it out this week, wish I had a camera mine grew legs..
Plenty of sand around my cat areas that should show something...Also will try it around a couple coyote travelways...

Have some left over bobcat urine will put it in with a bunch of turds and make a slurry like Swamp Wolf spoke about I like that idea..like Swamp Wolf said this stuff is so catty smelling and it’s free...

Enjoy your turds...I’m almost sure our Michigan cats here will like it...well I hope..

Ambush I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what's all attracted to it. I'm the guy that's not afraid to carry around a bucket or two of cat litter. Most people that thumb their nose in the air have no clue what's in that gland lure they just smeared on a flat set. Dare I say it I have found it to be more of a calling than skunk or castor. Weird deal here is the coons seem to have a taste for it. If I could get them to leave it alone long enough I'd probably have even more documentation of coyote/cat visits than I already do.

Noses I could understand but when a group of em found it there's nothing left of the pile. Yuck. Eat it right up faster than carp.

No kidding and we have lots of coons around here to prove that...

I agree Wade...Lets face it we’re dealing with animals that sniff butts all the time..Im sure the turds they produce have some good butt smells in them...Basically the liquid I’m going to put out in areas where cats travel prior to cat season and see how they react..in December when our car season is open if it’s cold enough the coons will be holed up I hope...

Next batch I make I’m adding some cat urine mix it all up into a paste..I could make about 2-3 gals of this stuff for free..After the paste is made and sits a bit I’ll freeze it until I’m ready to use it...Maybe it will be a bust but who cares it’s free and lots of it..Only one that will be offended is my cat..

Years ago I made 5 gal buckets of meat scraps from animals I skinned..Let it sit out until it liquified, this stuff would make you puke it smelled so bad, but the coyotes loved it..Was a great locator...Got the idea from a seasoned lure maker..Never used it down a hole, I just used it as an attractor and set up wind..
Someone posted gross earlier in the thread about the cat turds, the liquified meat was beyond gross but it worked...

You could use a 1/10 of a cup of methyl paraben per gallon and take care of your mold problems.

Mixed up a small batch. Cat turds and a little bobcat urine letting everything soak.
Smells mighty fine. Will mash it up into paste and give it a try. It’s catty..
