Next week I'll be at the Miles City Bucking Horse and Bull Sale I'm betting that will be a common sight down there. Since most contestants don't know what those bronc's or bulls will do when the chute gate opens its even more interesting when it's rained, years ago someone could of gotten a picture of me coming off a bull just about like that during a rain storm during a rodeo in Miles City. Looks like that horse is Derby ready!! Maybe the rider too.
Bryce HaHa. Maybe Cody should have filed a protest for interference with the judges. Allan Old Benny Binion used to have a horse and mule sale in Miles City back in the day also. Stock that were straight off the range and wilder than a church house rat.

Swift and Cedar my dad cowboyed for Benny back in the day he was 15 or 16 when he started . There's still plenty of horses around with bloodlines from Benny the last one I rode was about a outlaw you never knew if it was going to be a good or bad day for what ever reason it didn't care much for men, women were ok I'd give him a flake or two of hay any make him come up to me before I'd let him eat so he started liking me ha ha . One of my favorite bucking stock contractor's was Marvin Brookman his bulls were ok but his horses were outstanding to say the least, I'd like to know how many houses that are voted on to buck at the NFR are descendants of what Marvin owned at one time. Sorry I didn't mean to take over the thread. Allan

One of our neighbors was Marvin Brookman he never traveled to many large rodeos but when he ended up with a horse or bull that was truly going to be special he would offer it to Harry Vold or Benny Butler or one of the other large stock contractor's. Ike Sankey I'll still work with each fall at one rodeo in Billings, if things go as planned I'll be working 5 different rodeos this year here in Montana the joys of being a stagehand. What I miss is back in the 1980's in Wolf Point Mt they had a match Bronc Riding the best Bronc rider's from the U.S. and Canada were invited and Calgary Stampede, Marvin Brookman and Vold all the big names brought horse's to this gathering talk about fun watching all those horses that were at the NFR in Dec . It at best broke even since Wolf Point is way off the interstate it went down in flames Metra Park in Billings maybe able to pull it off because of a international airport and the interstate is right there close by. Well if your in Miles City for the bucking horse sale stop by and say hello ! Allan

I wish I could be there. I know it will be good. The summer I worked for Benny, that sale, and things are a little fuzzy, was in a big auction barn that had Miles City written on the roof in big red letters. I do remember he wanted all those stinking mules shod and nearly all of them we had to throw and tie down.

Dad worked for Benny when he was 16 one morning Benny told dad to go catch a good horse for a long ride, he picked out a Tennessee walker that he liked Benny sent him to west Yellowstone to pickup 20 horses and bring them back. He did it by himself in 7 days after he returned he asked Benny to allow him to use the horse in a endurance race in Miles City with the same horse which he won. How many 16 year olds would you trust to do anything similar to that with a truck much less a saddle horse. Enjoy your day and Stay Safe ! Allan

^ great story! Your dad was a self starter and learned young, outstanding!
There is so many stories about Benny, he was an interesting man that really did live in the wild west at that time. Lol Thanks Allan.
Bucking Horse Saloon some of you out there sure knew where it was, I'm sure. When you went there you made sure to bring your own glass if drinking hard stuff. Lol
I love MC and my wife is from there.
