Once you go to small wild blueberries or huckleberries you never go back to large blueberries.

Once you go to small wild blueberries or huckleberries you never go back to large blueberries. When we were in Canada last summer we picked a bunch of wild small blueberries and I made a couple pies for all my fishing friends up there. They were making fun of me when I said I was going to pick some blueberries we found when checking out another lake and were calling me Betty Crocker and stuff. But they changed their tune when they smelled them baking and enjoyed eating them for sure.

Sounds great! Those guys learned a lesson and had a great experience. Wife and I ran out of things to do, so we picked blueberries in Maine while waiting to be picked up at a very remote lake. The next morning back at our cabin we made some awesome pancakes. Fortunately we had brought some real maple syrup

I am not a sweet eater UNTILL it comes to home made berry pie! one of my favorites is a hot piece of apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it and a thick slice of extra sharp cheddar cheese right on top of that.Other than that,ANY berry pie is good with me. What did you just say??? Before you hurl, just think, "blueberry cheesecake". Who doesn't like that?

Lol, I’ve never heard of or seen a piece of brick cheese on pie before. But thinking about cheesecake now and I guess it’s kinda the same deal. Different kind of cheese, but yeah. I love cheesecake!

Here's some mountain huckleberries (Vaccinium membranaceum) I picked and sold at the farmers market last year. Wife and niece in the background (they helped pick). I agree.... nothing like huckleberries for pies.
