I personally like to flesh and stretch all my critters. Although sometimes it feels more like work rather then fun, I enjoy the whole process of trapping from catching to putting the fur up.
There's a coon laying along the road in front of my house right now. I debated throwing it in my freezer, but I decided it was probably too rubbed to have any value. I suspect that's the norm for a coon this time of year
I stretch and dry most of mine, my daughter started helping me flesh when she was 9 last year. did a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) good job on her 1st one and she loves it
I don't have the desire or ambition to finish coons. I don't sell them in the round. Skinning them, at under 2 min. ea., is a no-brainer so I can fit more in the freezers before I sell.

Once skinned, how does a person go about freezing an unfleshed pelt, and how long will they be ok in the freezer? 2 minutes is impressive by the way

Just roll it up fur side out. Start at the tail and roll it up to the nose, then throw it in a bag and freeze. When your ready to flesh it just hang it up by the nose and as it unthaws it will unroll itself.

I lay mine out flat, fur out but I do not leave them in the freezer very long. They thaw out quicker that way as you do not have to wait for them to unroll. I think they flesh better after being frozen and are certainly less messy with the fat still cold. As soon as I can turn them, I start fleshing.

I agree that they seem to flesh easier after freezing, running them for about 5 min fat out with sawdust in the tumbler also seems to help.

I just lay them flat in the freezers, one layer per day. I have 4-5 freezers at any given time. I sell them when the freezers get full, I need some money, or I'm done trapping for the season,,, so up to 3 months. Never had any problems.
