Okay now and I am serious.

I have carried a pocket knife all of my life and now my hands and fingers are getting to the point I cannot open one.
So I am going to have to go to a fixed blade or some kind of spring assisted opening one.
Which do you think would be the best in this situation ?

Thanks,
J.D.

Those little silver Kershaw knives are great.

Smokey Mountain Knife works has been running close outs. If you like the Kershaw, they have Schrades which are assisted, in they are not like the flash assisted opening knives. The Schrade has a little knob which begins opening the blade, and you can flick your wrist to open it. 1/3rd the price of the Kershaw.

I have a nameless camo that I purchased for 2 dollars at an Ace Hardware end cap. I have used it for 2 years to cut bale strings. Just the open assist knob using thumb to push the blade open.

I carry one of these in the pocket sheath on occasion. Does all of the normal pocket knife stuff well. It is also an interesting way to carry a knife, it took a week or so to remember where I kept my knife but all good now. LOL

Inexpensive and if you don't like it I will buy it from you.

the kershaw 1660 (leek) is a fine knife - US made

you can go to bladehq and look at pages of spring assisted knives https://www.bladehq.com/cat--Spring-Assisted-Knives--46

or other knives as well.

What kind of blade shape do you like? That is the place to start. I like these. Small enough to not get people excited in the grocery store. Well built good steel holds an edge. Very useful narrow blade shape. Not wide and klunky

BenchMade makes some nice “spring assisted” knives.

My grandfather was missing an arm from a coal mining accident. He carried a one armed knife. They are still made today. Google GEC 85 one armed knife. They have a notch in the blade made to catch on clothes, or pocket edges. I think case made one too. Some of the ones made didn't have well defined notches. The GEC 85 ones look close to the type my grandfather carried.
