Wow, I didn’t see this coming. News sources (including liberal ones) reported that hundreds of Highland Ranch school students in Colorado attending a vigil for the deceased and wounded students walked out after a democratic rep. and a democratic senator gave a speech on gun control instead of honoring the students. The students that walked out, and it appeared about 1/2 of them, were angry and shouting out statements like we are people, not a political stunt and this is about mental health and not gun control. Apparently, this vigil was sponsored by the Brady campaign and the students and parents didn’t know it. The Brady campaign issued an apology for discussing gun control at this time in the healing process.

I think many high school age students are wising up to the liberal game. At least I hope so.

I am sorry for their loss but I am also proud of their stand against politicians trying to turn everything into their agenda.

We need a lot more young people like them.

This will get swept under the rug fast, only the anti gun liberal kids get the 24 hrs. spot light like from the parkland shootings.

The vigil was held at a neighboring school. It looks like all (or at least almost all) of the students from STEM (the school where the shooting occurred) in attendance walked out. They confronted the media in the parking lot, then they went back in and took over the microphone and wouldn't give it up.

The Brady Group had the decency to apologize, while the politicians, Bennett and Crow did not.

As said before, the kids insisted that they would not be used as political props and that the problem was mental health, not guns.

I don't know what they are teaching at that charter school, but first at least 3 students fought back against the shooters, then the rest stood up to the the media and the politicians. Renews my faith in the future.

Not even a little bit. How disappointed the media must be an "assault weapon" wasn't used. I assume the handguns were borrowed or stolen. Blew their narrative right out of the water. What reasonable new gun law would have prevented this?

Youth are honest and direct and they told the speakers what is valuable to them. We also have to know and understand that the door swings both ways and if we continue to ignore their passion and zeal the same sentiments and treatment goes to those the feel don't care.

The channel that I reluctantly watch, out of Phoenix, only mentioned the Vigil once in their 4 hour broadcast. And nothing about the Walk-off . Didn’t fit their agenda I’m guessing .

The media has picked sides in the culture war. They've broken with the trust of the American people.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Many experts on demographics are saying that Generation Z (born after 1999) are the most conservative demographic group ever in America. I think that has the leftists confused and angry.

Just ask some local high school guys if they've ever heard of Ben Shapiro; almost all of them that I know are avid followers of him. That was a real surprise when I learned that.

There is still hope.

Ben Shapiro will even open conservatives eyes. I've always knew what my morals were but he puts my thoughts directly into words.
