^ like most people do and myself. Key replacement for new outfits can run from 250 to 600$ I have been told. You just can't go the hardware store and have one carved out. So many people aren't hiding a spare because of the cost of a smart key etc.. What I have been told I haven't priced anything like that lately.

I don't need a smart key and I do not even use the power locks....all that stuff should be done away with, back to crank windows.

but if you lock your keys in the truck and don't have a key to open it, then you are up a creek.
Not really, I keep a spare in my wallet and my wallet is never kept in my truck locked or unlocked.

Friend of mine keeps a key in a small box in a heavy duty ziplock bag zip tied to his frame..it’s a key with the chip..After he locked his keys in while hunting out of state he said he learned his lesson.. I need to do the same..

^^^ Yup, I was just thinking the same thing.... all this technology makes it easier to rip people off. I'm glad my Wrangler is a 1990, and my Country Squire an '86... although neither vehicle is considered old to me. Now my 79 C-10 truck, and my 71 Plymouth... those are old !!

If you get a Tesla you can do it. You can also becon you car to come to you. So if you have to park far from a restaurant, eat to much, and don’t want to walk all the way to your car then you can get on the app and becon your car to come to you. Then take a nap with your hands on the wheel while your car drives you home. And once you get home, you can press the dance button and dance with your car in celebration. And that is all 100% true. I had a buddy do it haha.
If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

lestan101 >>> thanks. I will give it a try again and follow your steps. We basically did the same as you described but will give it a try sometime.
Yes, I have them wired on every outfit also. I had a friend that just bought a truck and hadn't got time to do that yet. He tried to do unlock with his wife at home and each had a cell but no go.

unless dodge is using some sort of sound based system - it simply can't work.
most wireless key fobs work on an radio frequency which can't be transmitted by cell phone.

Yep, it does work. My wife stood by the pickup door. I was about 10' away. I held my phone up, pushed the button, and wahlah....door unlocked.

Key just to open doors cost ~$3 to cut at Walmart, you don't need the chip in it and that is what costs. It wont start the car but it will unlock the doors and steering wheel.
