This will be the first year I sell beaver castor and I have a couple questions about the process.

First, how do you store the castor prior to sending into the auction? I think I read somewhere to keep them in a paper bag in the freezer. Is that correct?

Second, how is the castor graded? On cleanliness? Size? Color?

Third, how long do you like to dry them? If you over dry them will you loose weight from them?

Thanks for any input.

X2.

Check with Don Wolf on this forum. He has bought castor in previous years and has paid a good price. And he buys on actual weight!!

I have a large amount of castor I would rather not hold onto in the freezer, 3 grocery bags full to be exact. Does anyone have experience dealing with these castor buyers?
Very skeptical about shipping that volume to someone.

Since Spruce is in Canada, don Wolf might not be a good option due to the logistics of shipping and customs.

Perhaps Boco or another Canadian member can suggest a reputable buyer in Canada.

Gord Stickles from Valley cedarleaf oil buys a lot of castor from Ontario and que.
Google him and give him a call.
A lot of guys have been very happy with prices from FHA too, even with commission.
