I used Ortho Weed b Gone with 2 4 D but all it did is wilt slightly.

Anything with 24D should kill it. How long ago did you spray it? It'll wilt within hours, but it may take a week or two to die.

Easier to use pre-emergent in Feb and March.

Scotts weed and feed will kill them fast. It is granular treatment for lawns.

I just sprayed about 4-5 days ago. I'm just impatient I guess. Sprayed a second time yesterday, and some again today that still look healthy.

Just 2,4D Plain from any farm store or such should kill most all broad leaf weeds, do the spray while the weed is in the growing stage for best results and on a dry/sunny day so the stuff doesn't all run off, it has to absorb through the leaf and be pulled into the roots, any thing sprayed on the ground is wasted.
A gallon of Amine 400 concentrate is about $22 here and will mix a lot of spray.

I put them in my salads ...... not the tough old leaves I used to give them and the roots to the rabbits when I still had rabbits

Use Grazon Next. Not exactly listed for lawns, but you'll only have to spray once. Works super. It's for pasture use, I guess that is grass. Best to spray in late fall, even into November.

Try the knife and fork thing first ... you may like it. I do with a simple vinaigrette

Don't poison wildlife. bees use them for the first food of the season.

I use Weed B Gone Max. It has three broadleaf chemicals in the mix. It’s better! It really helps if you spray when there hasn’t been any rain the day before, the day you spray and for 24 hours after you spray. The last tip is to spray when it’s about 70 degrees (11 am?) and the weeds are actively growing so they take up the spray. Then, just wet the leaf, don’t drown it. Try to spray before the wind picks up, use low pressure, large droplet spray, otherwise you will have some drift and kill the wife’s tomatoes. If your bottle froze over winter, try using a stronger concentration.

A preemergence product only works on seeds, not established plants. Use both.

They are hard to kill this time of the year, even with round-up. Hit them with 24-d after the first frost in the fall and they go down like a house of cards. Mike

Ok honestly. I am against spraying chemicals around just so the place looks nice. I hate golfers for that very reason. If it aint grass .... short and stiff .... kill it. Dandelion has a bunch of iron and more vitamin C then oranges pound for pound. So unless you are trying to impress the neighbors with a nice green sheet of green that needs constant attention. Just eat the fecking stuff and be done with it ...... Sorry, PC gland has hiccups

I let them grow. My bees prefer to work them over just about anything that blooms in the spring. When dandelions bloom = time to put on honey supers.

I try to keep the yard nice because I'm allergic to the dandelions, and if I don't keep up with the yard, the kids will wear trails down into it like cattle and turn it into a mud pit like hogs I use whatever concentrate Ace hardware has that says broadleaf on it. I'm not sure what the chemical is.

The idea that every inch of every yard must be 100 %weed free is another idea that we have convinced ourselves is important . I am not saying a little control now and than is bad but think about the millions of acres of lawn throughout the entire country and all the chemicals and money used so we can mow it more often .Us outdoorsmen are always talking about habitat for wildlife .Our yards can be a part of that .More shrubs and trees .Maybe a couple more flower beds etc will be places for birds and small animals to call home . Less work ,less money spent and less chemicals used .And unless everyone use weed control it makes you repeat the same thing forever .

It’s been way to cold in Nebraska to kill dandelions up until the last couple days, I have been spraying t-zone at about twice the dose for the last three weeks and barely curls them, probably will eventually die just taking a long time

Dandelions can be hoed or pulled out of lawns. The trick is to get the first 3/4 to 1" of taproot and then they will not grow back.

I've always been a fan of red and white cattle against green pastures with yellow dots...As Jeff and others stated, bees like them too...

I don't like dumping toxic waste anywhere my dog might get at it, I use a garden fork and dig them up. Works great! Just a couple of trips around the place and your done for the season and last's for years.

I have found after 3 years that whatever you do, they will come and dig a 5 foot hole for fiber optic or tear your curbing and sidewalks out. Then the process starts all over again.

I agree, I don't treat my lawn anymore. I let it be all natural and mow wearing a chipmunk fur thong and a hat.

If spraying is your preferred option then to m using 2-4-D in the fall gives me the best results. Dandelions are very susceptible in the fall when restocking their roots for the next season. A good time is about a week or two before the fall equinox as the plant is still growing rapidly before the days shorten faster and if mowed regularly they are small and more easily killed. Also being early spring flowering plants and not flowering in the fall the bee issue is lessened as well. Once numbers are kept low then using a triangle hoe cuts them out quite well also.

Q4 plus is good for broadleafs. Tanacity is another good one as it gets more crabgrasses as well.

WEED - B- Gone. THEN put down crabgrass preventer also prevents dandelions from starting from neighbors yard.

I used to have dandelions then I started to eat them and wanted them in my yard.....now I rarely have them. Go figure.

Curtail with a little Stinger if you have Thistle or Creeping Charlie

I use Round-up.

If there's no pretty yellow weeds in my yard, a bee won't have to buzz very far to find some more.

What ever you use to spray with add a little dishsoap to the mix, It acts as a surfactant.

Grazon next is a good product, it doesn’t have the brush killer in it like regular grazon does, if you use grazon next don’t bother to try and seed anything because it doesn’t let seeds germinate for 6 months but it will not affect growing grass. Round-up or glyphosate, samething will kill grass and it does a beautiful job of it also.

I let the pollinators take care of it.

For me I have created an executive order that dandelions are not permitted past my boundaries. Walls don't work for such undocumented weeds so I develop my own set of rules as to what is desired or not desired on my property. The dandelions infiltrate by many means all of which are not legal in my mind. They steal nutrients from desired plants and take benefits from the care I give all the plants I want and then multiply within the said boundaries and tax the resources of my assets even more. Many pass judgment as to my rules and executive orders pro and con but I just do what I want to do. He says tongue in cheek.
