The 2017 log pile has started. Found some dead ash trees on the property beside me. Bunch more in there. Thing is its not gonna fall on my stuff. I may get the rest later. Gunning for a pile of oak. That ash burns good, but burns to quick.



I got some other things done today also. I welde a Reece hitch to my log skidder or drag so I can move trailers out of the road. Works pretty slick. I also got some building done on my loft. Still thinking on how I'm gonna get up there. Ladder or stair case. Leaning to the stairs.



Did take time to go look. Only found this one close by. Figured it was time to make a beer run and check another spot. I didn't find anymore. I did get beer. It's raining out now. Every stinking Thursday it starts around here. Bout sick of it. I figure it's time to take a few days and look hard.

I think this year is better than last year for rain. The ground seems to dry out a bit between rains this year.

We are like 10 inches above for the year already. Really hoping it lets up soon. It's in the forecast all this week. I was hoping to have a stack of logs ready for fall by now.
Couple buddies got out yesterday and found enough to munch on. I still haven't got out like I wanted to. I don't have many spots I can get to without a long walk or making a mess with the Wheeler or the dirt bike. I take off walking and it's sure to rain. Lol. Did the other day.

Ya ain't gonna melt

I know I won't melt much. Plowed ground and rain with a half mile walk bugs me more. Lol.
Got a short day at work today. Gotta run the propane delivery trucks and crane trucks in for inspection today. Then I might go fill my bucket.

Morning catch. I haven't thought about it this year. We don't see them much here. Some day I figure they will show up on a normal pattern. Kalibj here on trapperman has had me to his place to hunt turkeys. We struck out but we got close. I've never shot one.

I got my floor in. Nothing else to do I reckon. It's Thursday which means it has to rain like every other Thursday. Bout the time you can move around on the ground. Gotta pack a bunch of stuff up the steps yet.

I made a saw holder. Pretty handy. I made 2 of them , one on each side of this bar. It's hard on saws hauling them in the bucket. Least the way I drive. Even did a video. I'm not good at vidioes as you will see.

This stuff is brand new wet. Is it cherry? Cut like good firewood.

I was moving 2 logs at a time. Handy son of a buck.

Been raining here all morning. Seem to rain every Thursday into Friday. Tough to get any wood cut. Was hoping to have it all home by now. I don't mind cutting and splitting in the fall.

This is some old oak. It's been down for a long time. The logs in this woods are 50 to 60 foot long. Gotta be 20 of them in this corner of the woods.

Picked up a little weld job on tomahawkers disc. Hitch broke.
Did some field tile repairs for another farmer. He had some blow outs.
One was a 15 inch main. The original 15 inch collapsed to a 10 incher. We had to modify that one. Lot of hand digging in the hole. Looked like this at first. We pulled it out and dug a bit more. Soaked to the bone.

Thats how I did my stairs. Glued and Screwed. It took alot of figuring but it ended up being simplistic. Everything is 45* using framers square. One of the great big ones help.

I found a couple broken ones the other day logger. I checked a new spot on a hunch. Didn't find Amy workings and was surprised to find what I found. Nice tall hill on close to the creek, probably 300 yards away.

Them are some good looking steps ohio boy. Probably should have made mine wider and closer together. Mine will keep the riff raff out. Lol.

Howdy catch. Catch any of that rain? I heard some 4 inches over to belfountain. Hope these baby rats can swim good. Creeks are out this morning on my drive around the block. I'm gonna go hit some propane tanks. Got a few people firing up their pool heaters this weekend. I thought I hit most of them.

Yep, my back yard is lacking in fish only, got the water down pat lol. Looks like more coming. I'm having a time trappin coons in a big ole barn, mice and rats are stealing my bait, going to plan C. Hope ya get the propane delivered, hate to see folks swimming in cold water.

I've got matters and peppers bought and sitting outside waiting on some dry soil to be put into. Looks like this weekend will be another bust after last night.
