I really like it. Set aside some time and do 3 or 4 coats and you will have to scrape the dogs and pans.

Best commercial trap coating available IMO. Drys fast, hard and slick. Apply in several thin coats and it holds up great. No sticky stinky messes like you'll see all to often with gas based dips.

No you wait maybe 45 min to an hour between coats if you hang them in front of a fan or outside. Usually by the time I'm through with all the traps the first ones are ready for the second coat. You only need to do 3-4 coats on traps that have never been treated, then when its time to redip them you just wash them off with a hose and one or two coats will be plenty. (and yes you can redip them during season if you want, they are completely dry, hard and slick, durable finish in 4 hours maybe 5 and they are ready to be set. No waiting for smells to go away or for it to no longer be sticky.)

Also you could dip them where you hang them, you're making more work of it than it has to be.

Fellas like Slim Pedersen use and like it even on K9 traps, that's good enough for me.

Love that brown F1 on beaver snares and beaver footholds. Also dip all my Belisles and supports. OD green color (brown) is perfect down here in these swamps.

Newt showed me the OD green once up to Olson's field days. Placed in the water it darn near disappeared.
I thought the F-1 I tried worked will concerning canines. No avoidance issues, or no more than any other treatment.
I had issues with the traps that got treated and that did not get used. The next fall when getting ready for the season I had several nut and bolt assemblies that rusted tight, so tight you had to really reef on the pan.

I have thought of treating some traps with fuel based dip to prevent rust and then dipping in F-1 for odor control. Probably too many motions to go through.

Getting it off is a bear.
Mac

I didnt like F1 on k9 and cat footholds. Had same issue with it gumming up. I tumble my traps to clean in a cement mixer with blasting grit and it took a while to get "most" of it off. Some of the gumming might could have been reduced by mixing thinner.

I prefer to add an extra can of water to the mix.

So the fuel based dip, might be better for stop or neutralize rust ?
