Most permits issued in a right to carry State are for use in reciprocal States as proof you qualify in your own State.

By that logic why get a drivers license, or a hunting or fishing license ? Don't I have the "right" to harvest game to feed my family ? Why follow any laws if it's a "right" ? Neither driving nor hunting is included in the Constitution. By your logic you can make a pumpkin pie from tomatoes.

I just take into consideration that some places in this Country really don't give a hoot what we think and care less what the system would do to us so I'll pass on picking and choosing how I interpret the rule of law in that State, a $10 dollar permit is better then a 10 year sentence.

Most permits issued in a right to carry State are for use in reciprocal States as proof you qualify in your own State. Correct. MO (tjm's home state) doesn't require a permit for open or concealed carry but issues permits so a Missourian can be legal in all the states that require permits and have reciprocity agreements with MO.

I have said for 50 years or so that anyone getting a permit is anti gun, because you reinforce the notion that guns should be controlled. It's easy to be condescending when you live in a state that doesn't require a concealed carry permit. I wonder how many of our members have ever faced serious legal issues due to their principles . I'm guessing few if any. I bet even fewer are actually willing to do time for them .
Save me the " I'd fix bayonets " speech . You most likely had your chance to do that, too. Exactly I used to exercise my 2A right when working in NJ (theoretically speaking of course) because I think it is ludicrous that I become a felon as soon as I cross the Delaware river for doing something that is completely legal on my side of that river. When I realized I would automatically spend two years in jail if caught I capitulated. I now risk becoming a government-mandated victim of crime every time I cross that bridge. It's a tough choice, government-mandated victim or government-mandated felon. Practicality beat principle in that decision.
Eh...wot?

Sometimes it's due to disparities in the training requirements, if any. I had a Florida permit, before Mo went "No permit Required", and let it go, as many states wouldn't honor a Fla permit issued to a non resident. Never considered a Mo permit because I didn't care for my county government to know I carry.

I have carried in all 48 states when i was still driving over the road. Many of them it would have been a felony. I stayed low key and never had to go in front of a jury. I was in cities like east St. Louis. Chicago Memphis Brooklyn NY LA New Orleans regular. All the cops i saw were armed. I dont believe my life is less important than theirs. Takes a special kind of special to arrest and charge a man for just being armed.
