After Clinton outlawed the import of those Russians the ones currently in the US now sell for a high price.Especially a non re-furbed with all matching serial numbers
I don't know why those were banned they are nothing special really just an army surplus semi.

They still show up in large numbers. They are just restamped with an older date.

All Kidding aside, where my wife and I spend 10 days or so a year fishing on Lac Seul in northwestern Ontario we will come across a tiny island or a point jutting out from shore.
There will be a Canadian flag planted in a pyramid of mortar and rock placed there with a bronze plaque in honor of one of the dozen or so men who gave their lives in WWII, all from the little bitty Village of Hudson.
On one end of a hundred mile long lake.I suppose that was quite a loss for that place back in the 40's.
