I DID NOT have any coon at this FHA auction. I had 4 coon at the March FHA auction that were caught in February. They averaged $12.88.

Might be better but I doubt "much" better.

Actually, we would still be selling cheap at a buck an inch compared to 1980 prices. A 60 dollar 1980 beaver would be like getting $186 average today in inflation adjusted dollars.

The guys who didn't hang up their traps are getting about $7 in 1980 dollars for good blankets at Auction. I have not raised my price on beaver in 25 years, not a very good business model. smile

I'm sure it'll be around that. They do have a shipment headed out of the first week of June. Not sure if that includes CITES or not.

The later it gets the more nervous I would be if I had any amount of coon at auction. I sold the last seven 3x C SLD for 9.50 each. Can I ask why you sold them on this auction or NAFA. Were they holdovers from the march sale? That was the only coon I had not sold so I have zero on the books now. LLL

LLL maybe it's not late but early, who knows. I do know our coon here are to heavy for coat liners, but will work for coyote substitute. Don't think there will be much of a market move on NAFAs auction and FHA didn't have enough to gauge anything.

Last year, the coon in the May auction averaged fifty cents more than in the March auction. I did right at sixteen at the March auction.

This year I did twenty at the March, and twelve at the May. I can note that I didn't have much of a sampling on either auction this year, as I had a minor surgery on my ankle and couldn't trap through Dec and Jan., so basiclly was just the coon caught in coyote sets both early and late.

These are Ohio coon. I am OK with the prices on the coon and rats. Beaver was a disaster!

How cool is it that a Tman member in Nova Scotia sends his bear Hide to FHA auction and it is bought by a Tman member in Idaho. Small world.

It would be even cooler to know where the Hide ends up once it is tanned and sold to a customer.

How about it CDA trapper - do you think it is possible you could report back when this happens?

I know! I thought it was pretty crazy as well. I would also love to know where it ends up.
