Is this common a friend got this one.

Some gobblers have multiple beards. If you have a fall season where hens are legal you might even find one of those with a beard.

I would not call it common but it does happen occasionally. I have killed a couple double beards over the years and my son got one this year with 5 separate beards. Finding a hen with a beard seems more common to me that multiple beard toms.

We have some properties where multiple beards are common. Same with bearded hens.

I have hunted them a long time and only have taken 1 with 2 beards.
2 fellers i have hunted with have taken bearded hens. All the states I have hunted turkeys in on spring hunts call out bearded turkeys as legal. Either sex is legal if it has a visible beard. Check your state laws before you shoot one. Both bearded hens I saw taken had 5" beards.

Those are "transgender" or Caitlyn Jenner hens!

Genetic. Not common around here (triple beard). I have taken a few double beards but only one triple( out of about 50). Some areas I have never got a double while others I have taken 2-3.

I’ve seen bearded Eastern’s, Osceola’s, Rio’s, and Gould’s hens. Haven’t seen a bearded Merriam hen yet. Just FYI, Georgia is 3 Gobblers...not 3 bearded turkeys. They changed the wording years ago.
I’ve taken multi-bearded Eastern’s and Rio’s gobblers. Wouldn’t shoot a hen even if legal.
