Sitting at campfire last night at my sister cottage. Several of us BSing watching the stars and looking for satellites.. I look up see what I think is a satellite and it probably was.. but then have to tell the others "Holly Crap!" look at that a UFO. Here is not just one but several what look like satellites in nice straight line all even spaced tracking west to east..I've seen a lot of satellites sitting by campfire some nights count close to 50. This group looked like any other satellite just that it was very apparent they were together maybe even connected some how??.. No idea what we were seeing some kind of satellite I'm sure, maybe space junk?High altitude military aircraft?? First four were nice and bright like the other satellites we'd already seen then last 3-4 were more faint. They just straight lined West to east and disappeared. My brother in law tried to video them on his phone but couldn't get the light to shut off so video didn't work. Most the satellites we see sitting at the camp fire also track north and south not s many east and west.. Any one ever seen Satellites in groups strung out. They could have been miles apart high as they were but sitting there watching looked like a string of periods at end of sentence....... Guess may have to go google searching?? When they disappeared I even said "Ok now everyone here seen same thing I did right?" LOL All seven of us seen same thing..

Mac, did you miss any time? Do any parts of your body feel strange or sore like you been probed? LOL I like watching for satellites. Was watching for them at Minot ND, saw one that tracked East to West (if I remember right) from the horizon till it got right over head, stopped, then went back the way it come from! Man that sent shivers down my spine! Dennis

I have seen many satellites while sitting around the campfire stargazing. I’ve often seen them take the exact same track one right after the other but they were all spaced at least five or 10 minutes apart. I’ve never seen a string like you described.
Eh...wot?

We used to have one that would pass over at the same time every night until we moved. Trees are too thick where I live now.

Look up at a clear moonless night sky from a mountain at 12000 feet or even a desert floor, far from any yard lights and it is an amazing thing. Even a campfire limits what you see. Many reading this have never done it and so simply cant imagine what I'm talking about. Give's you a hint of what infinity is.
I think it VERY unlikely ours is the only planet with life. It is possible some other intelligent creature has solved the math and energy problems we have not, making interstellar travel possible.
No telling what you saw Mark but odds are it wasn't aliens. Hard to tell how big or far away something is on the snow covered prairie too. Might have been lights on an aircraft or crafts, only a few miles away.

Various Earth-observing satellites, such as NASA/USGS's Landsats, that image another piece of ground with each pass, are on "polar" orbits, that descend (come from the north) over North America. Satellites in geo-stationary that need to be over the same place on the Earth, such as the weather satellites over NA or national security assets over specific "areas of interest" around the world, generally would be the ones that appear to move west to east. They aren't actually moving as they are 'station" but its us on the Earth that are turning around our axis. I suspect that most of our communication satellites are also on geo-stationary orbits so they would also pass west to east. Jurrasic Park, if you find yourself down here in se SD, I'll show you some satellites... P.S. This article states that geo-stationary satellites probably wouldn't be seen going west to east but staying constant with the rotation of the Earth so don't know what you all would seeing going west to east... https://gisgeography.com/polar-orbit-sun-synchronous-orbit/

I saw almost the exact same thing last fall
Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

Reading a bit on the Starlink Satellites I'm pretty sure that had to be what we saw.. Knowing where to look for that track I'm sure we will see them again if they don't go higher and out of view like artical says they may. If they were just recently launched would be why haven't seen them until now. Last night was first really good sky I've looked at camp firing since was tapping Maples.. Also maybe just certain time night might see them think was maybe 10 :30 -11:00. I'm usually in bed under covers way before 10. So monsters don't get me. Everyone know monsters come out after 10......... :-)
Moostrot are you suggesting I need to quit sniffing glue???? you know I ate paste and paint chips when I was a kid..
