so turkey hunting is coming to a close here in Ontario and I thought id get and try one last time for this big boss tom that has eluded me all season so I get out there in the bush this morning decoys set up and sitting waiting for the first gobbles but nothin but not the first time this has happened so I hear a noise roughly from the area that they roosted yesterday thinking to myself did a bird just fly down then I hear a stick crunch just down the fence line than silence I give soft purr and nothing I assume its a coyote maybe a deer my view down the fence line in that direction sucks but all of a sudden I see movement 10 feet away its momma bear and a two year old cub or maybe going on three almost crapped right there so I yelled she stopped in her tracks a just looked so I jumped to my feet yelling as I shoulder the gun that was enough to scare her off but the cub came back looking about five minutes later pretty sure she didn't wait for him and he was looking for her but was sure glad I didn't have to see if turkey loads would stop a bear anyways took a bit to get my breathing and heart to settle down than a jake snuck up on me about an hour later I ended up missin him oh well first time in 20 some odd years I missed a turkey wishing I had a camera or my video glasses turned on

Now that is a hunting story. I'm glad you didn't have to find out what Turkey loads would do to mama bear

Yup! You will remember that hunt, turkey or no turkey.

Was set up on some turkeys with my brother one morning. He was about 20 feet to my left. As he was calling I heard something coming in from behind us that kept getting closer and coming faster. Finally as it sounded like it was gonna run over us I spun around just in time to see a coyote with his nose within an inch of my brothers elbow.
I spooked him as I spun around so he about faced into the tree my brother was leaned against and kicked on the after burners headed to the next county. Unfortunately for him #5 shot caught up to him about 10 yards out.

had a few yotes come in close I van deal with them(they don't even bother me)and they get a free pass unless mangy but bears never want them that close again unless I have a load of slugs in or a big rifle

Its ok to miss a turkey and have to clean out your drawers within the same hour.

Saw a video on TV where a guy was flying down a trail on a bike, and when he rounded a turn, there was a bear standing right in the path! He yanked the handlebars hard left and dove into the weeds! LOL

Getting stalked by black bears is getting to be almost common in the area I hunt around my camp in north central PA. It just happen to me twenty minutes ago for the seventh time in ten years. A sow and two cubs cams in to my hen calls. The sow saw me at about fifty yards and stood on her hind legs for a minute or two to get s better look before ambling off.

The light was too low for a good pic. The sow and one cub leaving:
