I have an old cylinder Brinkman charcoal smoker that I converted to an electric heating coil for the heat source. My 2nd coil has burned out and in trying to replace it apparently Brinkman no longer manufactures that style smoker any longer.

My unit no longer has a model # showing and the parts rep said she needed a model # to determine what coil might work. Does any one have one with the model information still showing.

All of the coils I can find on the internet are straight where they plug into the heat source. My coils make a 90 degree turn and go down through the metal plate and then plugs in. I have smoked a lot of meat on this unit through the years and really hope to use it again.

Any wisdom or information is appreciated.

It has a water pan and two grills that go above the heating element and your smoking wood goes on top of the element.

That sure sounds like it. To my knowledge there’s never been a model number on a brinkman smoke and grill... at least not either one of mine.... I’ll look when I get home from work.

Now that you mentioned it you could be correct. All of mine are quite old and have been painted with the black high temp paint several times. Any way I will wait on a reply.

I just walked in the house. There's no model number on mine. Just rusty black. And there's no tag spot at all. So I'm pretty sure you've got a brinkman smoke n grill.

This is out of a Brinkman Electric smoker like you described.
It was round , the square pan was not part of it.
The element gave out and I replaced it.
Then the base gave out , for some reason I saved it ?
I'm a packrat , can it help you?

Thanks for all the replies. I'm sure the problem will get solved as have wild hog hams and shoulders to smoke cook.

Trapperman.com the place where every problem gets answered. Thanks Paul for the great site.
