Anyone heard if nafa going let better quality coon that held back on last sale, go chesper, or if more interest , Because buyers not want to pay more for better colors on bigger select Jumbo's all mine brought back in March, were all best bigger coon. The 1st fha auction, may have sold better goods an not low grade stuff is what I heard ?

Coonman, you sure worry a lot, especially about things you can't change now. Why?

I don't know how many you sent to NAFA for the first auction but perhaps not everybody's best coon were bought back at that auction. I don't have time to trap a lot but I put effort into putting up my coon and I'm lucky to live in an area where I generally (last two years seem to be different) have mostly W. North Central or W. Northern coon. Here's my breakdown of the 17 coon I had at the NAFA Feb/Mar auction:

W. Northern, 5 offered, 5 sold, $18.50 ave
W. North-Centrals, 7 offered, 6 sold, $16.08 ave, and yes, the one that was bought back out of this group was a "good one"
W. Semi-Heavy, 5 offered, 0 sold, $0 ave

What was your break down by region on what you sent, what was sold, and what the ave was for what you sold...? Actually provide some data points and not just wave you hands around about what you "felt" and what you "heard".

same section coon as yours, to much to post on quality an quantys, average of what sold was $12 an change, so I end up clear around $10.50, like I say, all bigger 3xl up no.1- select in good colors with some off colors, was brought back

His location has nothing to do with this other than he should have some of the best in the world to start with. As far as making money on good coon, well I bet I cleared more trapping coon than MOST coyote and cat trappers did this season. LLL

Some people don't want to work that hard for a living, that is why they trap $100 coyotes and $500 cats instead of $10 coon they have to sort to get that.

If you don't have $100 coyotes and $500 cats you gotta trap what you got.

I no longer trap k-9 lime years ago when younger. I set just few snares for them, I used to get lot permission an had lot traps an everthing needed for k-9 trapping, used do lot walking an some driving in fields , alot ones that into it. Have ATV an trailer, for k-9 trapping , I have like 9 no.3 bridgers. I use for beaver trapping, to get back into coyote an fox trapping , requires big investment, lot permission asking, I quit k-9 trapping for number reasons, 1 of big ones , was to many free roaming dogs, i set very few snares, an dps , some 220s in heavy trails, more into water trapping, coon are best to go after, not hard to get lot. An around here. Good quality. U can make a lil money. I not looking for real unpleasant surprise but I have no idea

That is why you move or trap out west. Cause that is where they are.
