OK I am new to trapping at 55. lol But have hunted coon dogs most of my life. I just read on another thread some one has a pet coyote who loves eating night crawlers and bugs. I was just wondering if any of you lure makes add night crawlers to you baits? I would hypothesize that they might work especially if coyotes like eating them? Might be that one thing that sets your bait apart OR. won"t !! Any ideas or are they a common ingredient?

Thank You

I may have used them and meal worms in a bait or 2 for coon and skunks in my ADC line. have never used them for k9 but they do have a distinct odor when broken down.

I use worms in my fishing scents, fresh, and in coon and skunk. guess I will have to play with k9 now. Thanks for provoking my thought process LOL

I have NOT messed with nightcrawlers for bait except using them fresh when fishing.

I don't know what ever happened to him but a guy calling hisself scottytheboy used to be a regular on tman. He bought some of O'Gorman's Powder River Paste bait to try in NY where he lived. I remember him saying that Powder River smelled exactly like some nightcrawlers he had forgot about and let rot. Said he was going to try them as bait. Seems like he just kinda disappeared from here before he ever said how they worked.

Maybe O'Gorman but a hit out on him before the secret got out.

id say it could be a potential additive. Many insects once rotted down have a very strong unique smell. LOL anyone ever accidentally spilled a fly trap? Both my dogs will roll and pee any time I dump mine. They get the same response from dogs as fish juice
