Let your dog take a dump on the street in San Francisco and don't pick it up you get a $300 fine, but it is perfectly ok if you take a dump on the streets in public and walk away!!!!!! Where are our principles and self respect heading too in this country?

I stopped defending my home state some time ago. It is so sad. California was a paradise for hunting, fishing, schools and business for so long, but liberal government has taken the state into the ground.

Human feces on the sidewalks of San Francisco is the least of the problems.

Last time I was there was for my Grandpa's memorial service in SF. There were not only human feces on the streets, but lots of hypodermic needles in the gutters, as well as more trash than I've ever seen in my life.

I was there in 1963. When I came home all I could talk about was the Golden Gate and Alcatraz, all the crabs and fish I saw boiling in the big pots on Fisherman's Wharf, and the Trolleys. It was such an amazing place for a kid to see and just to be able to brag I had been there. How fast a place can go from wonderful to being shameful, and I'm afraid it's not isolated to just there.

Yes Foxpaw you are right. It is in Seattle, LA, San Diego and El Paso just to name a few. It is sad to see this is the path our country is beginning to follow.

Dwight D. Eisenhower said "A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both". I can see that beginning to happen. Is it to late stop it from happening?

I was in California 1980. As a kid I was amazed at all the garbage laying around the streets and parking lots and at all the dark haired people, who I could not understand, who just threw trash everywhere. I had seen dozens of Woodsey Owl PSA's and was very against littering. I still am very against littering. I almost got hit by a diaper a Hispanic woman threw out a window at Disneyland.

California appears much worse now.

I was last in Seattle in September of 2001. I saw more bums in a few blocks, than I probably previously saw in my entire life. Much of Seattle smelled like urine and human body odor.

I don't see how any decent human being would want to live in cities like that.

Keith
