I don't think I would pay much more than $2.00 - $2.50 apiece for them. Get them at a good price and sell them at a good price.

you can buy dukes new at conventions for $45/dz, and regularly for $55 from online dealers. People always say used price 1/2 of new, but my experience is more like 3/4-7/8 cost of new if in good shape. SOme people, myself included, can't shake the "buy more traps" addiction.

I bought 12 dozen of those at $2 apiece. There are thousands of them out there with these low fur prices.

I think the popularity of DPs have left a lot of 1.5 coils as orphans.

That's why I plan on picking up another 12 dozen just to help folks out. I can spare $2 apiece.

It used to be you could pay $3.00 to $3.50 each for good used 1 1/2 Victor coils, turn them right away and make a couple bucks. Not the case any more. Duke 1 1/2 coils are just as good (my opinion) and they are less expensive than Victors and other brands.

Combine that with low fur prices and it is not the time to over pay for used traps.

On that quantity, I would pay$2.00 each and maybe plan on sitting on them for awhile till fur prices come back up.

I don't think now is the time to be messing with user traps. The only way I would get them is if I had a buyer lined up.

Good luck with the $2.00-$2,50.That maybe what we think they're worth at the current market but I haven't seen any selling at that price for a long time. It seems anymore you have the guys who bought and used them refusing to sell at those prices, and the flea market types who consider every trap an artifact worthy of antique prices.

Depends on the current wild fur prices and where you are at in the U.S. The internet has made everyone a "dealer" so if located in a state (area) where there is a history of fur trapping then used traps will be available and relatively inexpensive (Minnesota-New York-Pennsylvania-Wisconsin good examples). But if trapping is not historical there, then prices seem to be higher as the 'tool" is not as common in the used market (when fur goes up). Currently the coyote traps don't last long in the used FS advertisements and used beaver traps are pretty well stacked up for comparison - a reflection of the fur prices. 1.5 coils are always available at the Nationals so the locals and hard core people will usually be stocking up there but take note as the 1.5 coil did not do well on the BMP testing for the most common furbearers trappers use them on.

A few years ago I and a friend took about 6 dozen traps to the National in Escanaba. We walked around and saw what the listed price for the traps that we had and brought a few dozen to a handful of vendors. The offers we were getting were less than half of their listed price so we took our traps home. I can give them to our new trapper ed grads and get more satisfaction from that. These were not obscure type traps, 110s some 160s, 1.5 etc.

Our trapper ed classes get a trap upon Gaduation and I took note of which one it was and in 10 years it had paid the royality dues for that trap.

Honestly I'd have offered $1 each if I were buying them to resell. Likely they will all need going over, repaired, tags cut off, replacement parts, cleaning, treating, pictures, time to post them, etc... all adds up to a lot of time and work.
