I found it would freeze fairly easy and am a waxed dirt and waxed paper fan. I would think it would be okay for temps right around or slightly below freezing but forget about teens or single digits

I hear you there. Easily a half-gallon per set of waxed dirt. I like silkyplains idea about waxed dirt, then peat moss, then waxed dirt for coyotes. I have heard wolves will not work a set with peat moss in it.

like I said In another thread you can't bed a trap In peat moss. Your trap bed needs to have straight sides and It needs to be just big enough for the trap. Or you need to use the 3 spike method of stabilizing your trap.

like I said In another thread you can't bed a trap In peat moss. Maybe you can't. I can and have and will again. Does this mean we can't be friends?

So far I haven't had any problems. The nail Is completely smooth and I can't see how It would impede the closing of the jaws. I assume your cutting off the nail heads. And when the nail Is driven all the way In flush with the top of the jaw there Isn't much holding the jaw. But like Murphy's law If It can go wrong It will.

[quote=The Beav]like I said In another thread you can't bed a trap In peat moss. Maybe you can't. I can and have and will again. Does this mean we can't be friends? Friends for life. If your trap bed Is of the right size and shape It can be done but In a bowl type trap bed I can't see bedding In peat moss to be very stable. Please enlighten me on your method.
