Yeah, at the risk of being called every derogatory name in the book (and I don't really care), this article, to me, is very believable. I saw firsthand over nearly 30 years what was going on in Alaska and the Russian Far East. Climate change is real, my friends. Sticking our heads in the sand and denying is like saying you don't believe in gravity (can't see it, must be BS). There, I said it. Better get out the popcorn...

No flask from me, Jack grin

Whatever the reason/s, it has been a pattern swing in temps .

I respect your lifetime of experience and your observations and studies of the natural world are unsurpassed .

Actually, few of us debate that some kind of climate change is happening. The debate is cause and what , if anything, can be done.

I have never heard a single person denying that the climate is changing. What's foolish is to think that we are causing it.

What is more foolish is to think we can do something about it!

Last two posts are common sense.
It will get warmer and it will get colder. It will happen when mother earth and the sun with it's spots decides to change things..
People will adjust as they always have. Things cycle. Short cycles inside long cycles. A human lifetime is a short cycle. I have heard of a cooling trend and a warming trend just in my life.
The problem is politicians, and news agenda people want to self appoint and tax for their own benefit. Carbon credits and taxes will make no difference to any living species and will solve nothing other than making someone wealthy and powerful.

We are probably still warming from the ice age .Weather goes in cycles just like the rest of nature does. I am sure its been changing for millions of years. Its foolish to think that the earth should be a comfortable 72 degrees for us humans.

We have different weather on different parts of the globe. You can find just what kind you want if it bothers you.

Do you recall the end was near with a giant hole in the ozone due to chemicals we make escaping into the air? We paid a bunch to end it and lo and behold China never did stop and pumps out more chemical gas than ever. They say that ozone hole is gone now despite China. Imagine that?

Agreed above, things sure do change but blaming me and others does not wash. By the way, what is the worlds population now , how many billion 96 degree plus walking furnaces are now on the planet?

I noticed the weather doing it's biggest changes after Mount St Helen's then the volcano in the Philippines both erupted our bitter cold winters aren't as long as they once were and I sure miss it .
It seems to me our normal ( for us here in Montana ) winter weather has shifted to the east .
With that said I like everyone else will just keep doing what it takes to get through the day.

I see the word "foolish" used in several of the posts in this thread. What is foolish to me is the thinking that if we are taxed more it will cure climate change.

St Helens was a VE 5 eruption, 100 times smaller roughly than the Tambora VE 7 eruption that caused the 1816 year without a summer where temps globally we're only a degree off, and that during a solar minimum.

We set an all time record for snowfall this year, 113 inches. Please take your winter back. Thank you.

Exactly!
The planet's best hope may very well be the young folks that so many complain about nonstop.

But they don't buy the company line and go with what they only hope to be true as easily as the world weary generations running things now. They may hate us for the condition of the planet and the debt we refuse to address. If these things can't be worked on when things are going as well as we are told they are, when will it be done?

they hate us, because they are being TAUGHT to hate us.

apparently, they aren't TOO worried about "debt"...most of them are racking up quite a bit, but expect others (taxpayers) to pay it off.
