That's a good amount, a guy in my town has a '03 dually, used to run campers from Indiana to California, the Cummins failed at 800k miles I think, he's sposed to have a million miles on it now. I was wanting a 2012-15 ram, that should cover my driving till I get too old I drive a lot of gravel hunting n trapping, I use galvanized roof flashing to protect the paint on wheel wells, remove those Shields and my running boards every year or two to apply grease on any bare metal, bolt, screw holes, , drilled a hole in top of rocker panels, pour oil in to try and protect them from inside rust. Use ice liquid car polish, I think that really helps

This truck I bought used, 62k on it, it had dealership rust protection looks like, before I bought it I think he drove it when salt was on the road, then parked it in a dirt floor machine shed, it took almost a year for that greasy dirt smell to wear off, Lol The frame has some rust on it

With the cost of new pickups I honestly do not see how one can justify paying it. While not a pick up I recently noticed a new Jeep that looked kind of cool. Thought maybe it would be a good rig for trapping. The cab looks like an old style jeep and the vehicle has a short open pickup style bed. Jr. stopped to look at one. The tag on that was $58,800.00.
Holy Crap! For a toy truck!
I suppose if one is making a ton of money they can justify the cost of new trucks. For me a new vehicle is not considered a good investment in any way, shape or form. Trying to find a used Toyota, well you might as well go new with the prices on used trucks. Crazy world.

Paul did your tacoma not fit into the years they had the frame recall on? Impressive to see a dodge with no rust holes. My 07 was great till a year ago then it exploded with rust. It did, but because we don't get the rust they do in the northern states, it didn't rust out during the extended 15 year warranty on the frame. It rusted out at 15 years and 6 months. It was 6 months out of warranty. It's a 2000 model.

Paul, is that a 4 cylinder? How about a mileage record of some kind? I had 5 Toyota trucks between 1985 and 2002 (Tundra). Bought a Ford in 2002. It's not a Toyota. It's a six cylinder. The Toyota place where I have service done has a record that's as thick as a book.

Dont feel to bad about that, they likely would not have put a new frame in a truck with that many miles, they would of just bought it at a book value (low) and scrapped it.

I pour warm water over the sides of the truck after driving in salt, you also need to flush the rear wheel area with water till all the sand comes out, Ice wax is very good at protecting body If I knew how, I would post a picture of the truck, it's white to help in winter when hunting coyote
