In ne Missouri pool are running .4 to1.1 feet below 1993. Many levees broke similar to 93. Main difference most people took the 93 buyouts so we have fewer houses effected. From St. Louis south lower crests compared with 93 because a mod flood on Missouri River. We are cresting now at Winfield pool on Mississippi with a slow fall but with rain predicted all week who knows. Feels similar to 93 and the worst may not be over if we get a lot of rain north

The old farmers (80) here say "93 was worse. But there has been a LOT of standing water. Until 2 days ago I would say that only about 15-20% of the fields were plated with anything. Some corn got planted during the good weather window in April, and they are trying to plant now. Hope it goes ok.

2nd highest crest since the record floods of '93, but heavy rain expected all week.

It's bad but not as bad as 93 but one freak storm and we could get there pretty quick, all pot holes are full and the ground is soaked so no place to go but to runoff!

The river is close to 93 but not there yet. 09 set the record around Burlington,Iowa. 93 was suppose to be a 500 year flood. I've been around three 500 year floods now. I'm a really old for my age.

That's the way it is here too! The big mud hole lake to the west of me (tuttle creek) is brim full, but in 93, the water ran over the flood gates and was actually a couple feet higher than it was ever supposed to get. It is / was a couple of feet short of 93, barring any big rains! So far, so good!

Saw on the news that only 47% of Illinois farmers have been able to plant. Usually at this time they are 96% done - only 67% planted nation wide.
Cape Girardeau, MO and McClure Illinois (down South here) are in real trouble from the Mississippi River.

not just the rivers , lake Michigan is at and expected to exceed the 33 year high water mark this week.

piers that were 7 feet above of the water 7 years ago are nearly under water now.

The '93 flood was the worst because it lasted so long, Started raining in the summer of '92 and didn't quit for 9-10 months!

This is the Sandhills in Nebraska south of Valentine on Hwy 83. Like someone said the ground is polysaturated and theres just nowhere for the water to go but up. This fella was loaded so figured he was good and hit it at 60 mph.
