If the the Dems want a Greener America they should consider stop illegal immigration. Please not the following, illegals make up 3.3% of America, in 2014 our carbon foot print per person was 21.5 metric tons (see link) Real simple, stop the flow of illegals and reduce our carbon footprint. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/11/28/5-facts-about-illegal-immigration-in-the-u-s/There were 10.7 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. in 2016, representing 3.3% of the total U.S. population that year. The 2016 unauthorized immigrant total is a 13% decline from the peak of 12.2 million in 2007, when this group was 4% of the U.S. population Six states account for 58% of unauthorized immigrants: California, Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey and Illinois. But individual states have experienced different trends. From 2007 to 2016, the unauthorized immigrant population decreased in a dozen states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York and Oregon. In three states, the unauthorized immigrant population rose over the same period: Louisiana, Maryland and Massachusetts. https://greenliving.lovetoknow.com/What_Is_the_Average_Carbon_FootprintThe average American's carbon footprint per person in 2014 was 21.5 metric tons CO2 according to the University of Michigan. This an increase of 7% in 25 years. It remains the highest in the world since industrialization, but the picture is not uniform across the country or even within a region.

The people that worry about carbon footprint don't give up their cars. Or private jets, (Nancy Pelosi), multiple homes, (Bernie Sanders)

There were way more than 10.7 million illegals in the USA in 2016...probably 3x that #.

Interesting to me that it shows why there are such things as carbon credits which many on this forum feel are a waste. The idea of being able to farm the CO2 is a realistic and cost effective way to lower the presence. The key will be controlling the release. Also if what is stated above is accurate capturing it and forcing it into large vegetation patches really can work. If we want to increase the creation of carbon it makes sense to find ways to harvest it for future usage and value.
Bryce There is one huge problem with this train of thought. Those who are espousing the end of the Earth due to human caused Co2 have no interest in actually solving the "problem". They are only interested in having issues with which to run for office. A case in point would be the issue of gay marriage. They beat that drum so hard that the Supreme Court voted in favor legalizing it nationwide. Now they have one less issue to run on. I am absolutely certain that many democrats were not pleased with the Supreme Court for taking away a tool for securing a voting block So what did they do? They came up with Transgenders. How is that any different than gay rights? It isn't. It is just a different word used to create a new "Issue" to run on.
