Anyone ever used this stuff? I bought it to try out on some green coon hides I froze. I've never tanned before. When the instructions say to work the hide over a beam with a dull fleshing knife. what exactly does that mean?

Put the coon on a fleshing beam and flesh and stretch it before tanning.

No need to stretch it before you tan it. It’s easier to tan if it’s not dried first.

Its been a long time since I used it but I believe what that is referring to is breaking the hide after you tan it. The hide will be stiff and hard after it is tanned. You will have to add a hide oil to to and work it on the beam to get it soft and supple.

Yep... I imagine most folks are waiting for this season to begin as all their stuff is at auctions or been to the buyers..
No doubt it will pick up in November.
