Its very unique how the top is beveled one way and the base is beveled the other this strenghtebs the stem without adding thickness.
A buddy that is a supper flint knapper found the design of this point very interesting

I can't help you with that one! I used up all my brain cells on your last post! Cool point! I don't think I've ever seen one quite like it before!

it is not a Clovis because they are made with a central fluke taken out.
the notching is quite far up, so it may be a re-worked tool.
woodland period 2500-3500 bp these were common.
they fit on a spear and thrown by a altal

Nice new photo's, this is like internet grading of coyotes.
material looks like knife river flint......easy material to work with, fracture quite nice, you can see the small chips on the side.
As a working tool these would not show as well.

I was cutting wood and a branch in a tree flew at me when I made a cut. It hit me in the lower abdomen and gouged a quarter size hole in my sigmoid colon. 9 days in ICU but on full liquids and recovering well. And yes a colostomy but can be reversed in a couple months. I always feel someone else is worse off than me because it’s true. I’ll be darn near 100% by November and that’s most important to me. Yeah I’m taking horse pills at the horspital! LOL. Thanks for asking Lee and yeah I still love your draw knife!

Wow, hope everything turns out good!!!!

I really enjoyed looking at the pics of your very interesting projectile. I spent almost an hour searching the 2 very good references I have on points from Texas & surrounding states. The style and work of the piece, especially on the bottom or stem part, are very unusual. I have searched and found nothing close, but will continue to monitor other sources.

It looks like a Rice Lobed/ Jakie Stemmed bifurcate, or a MacCorkle if found in the east. A really nice old point, way before pottery or even stone bowls were used.

It was found within 10 miles of the confluence of the Missouri and Osage rivers in central Missouri

Looks like I'm out a few thousands years.
This material shows some pateniation with the small white dots
It is always interesting how humans developed different hunting methods as climate and vegetation changed. To meet their quary the points I'm familiar with look like these but in the pottery age of 2500-3500 bp, the same time they were growing corn in Manitoba.

I get kick out of the arrow head theories. My theory is no one is born a master flint knapper, it takes practice. There’s all kinds out there, from a youngsters first try to bona fide master piece.

I have never felt a new (counterfeit) arrowhead that felt like an old one. Just rub it between your fingers; a new one will feel sort of rough, and old one will feel waxy.

Thanks Danny for the character reference. I have no reason to mis represent this point or any in my collection they are not for sale and will never be for sale as long as i am alive .If I could napp somthing that good i would be proud of the accomplishment and not pass it off as authentic (some indians work ). And if it belonged to my Napper friend I would be proud that he had trusted me enough to give me one of his creations and not misrepresent it as somebody else's work.

Now if "not old " means woodland than it was found on high bench overlooking a creek that grandpa had never seen dry . Its a spot you might find anything from paleo to woodland Its high up but real close to good water

Have seen and handled alot of artifacts and have seen them similar to yours. In my opinion it is a variation of the Fluted Pedernales from south Texas.
