Rather than hijack the war nickel thread I decided to start my own thread. Which state quarters are the most valuable? Post away, thanks.

I was just joking about Wisconsin (minted in 2004), but found this on Wikipedia...
There was, however, a measure of collector interest and controversy over die errors in the Wisconsin quarter. Some designs from the Denver mint feature corn without a smaller leaf, others feature a small leaf pointing upwards, and still others have the leaf bending down.[33] A set of all three quarters sold on eBay in February 2005 for $300 and initially saw significant increases, such as $1500 for individual coins, but as of August 2012 PCGS lists the value of MS-62 specimens as approximately $150 each.[citation needed]

I'd imagine a pre-64 is worth more, but they're practically nonexistent in circulation nowadays.

A pre 65 quarter is worth $2.69 this morning.

I'd imagine a pre-64 is worth more, but they're practically nonexistent in circulation nowadays. A lot more then you might expect I handle 150 in quarters almost every day and pick out the pre 64 ones as well as the pre 64 dimes and I average 1 or 2 a day which I buy out of the stack along with any other old or odd coin

Between quarters, halves, dimes and nickels, quarters have the least amount of silver in circulation.

Most “silver” dollars in circulation aren’t silver. There are silver Eisenhower dollars minted but there weren’t intended for circulation. Morgan and peace dollars show up once in a blue, blue, blue moon.
If you go to a bank and ask for halves buy them all or at least all they’ll sell.

I’m no authority either Horse Creek when it comes to what is collectible. I’ve seen one real silver dollar in a tellers tray. Couldn’t get her to sell it to me either. I even offered her melt value. Grrr.
I’ve tried to get banks to order me a bag of the big dollars and they can do it but I haven’t found one that will. They come in bags of $1000. It’s easy enough to find a bank that will order the other denominations but no luck on the big dollars.
