I should have gone to Montana or Wyoming when I had the chance...

The Illinois state legislature is nothing more than another arm of organized crime.
We have 2 - yes 2 governor's mansions and nobody has lived in either one for decades. We've had four governors end up behind bars for various offenses.
Social programs are nothing more than political party slush finds. Most of the improvements to infrastructure in this state are done N of Springfield - where a certain political party reigns supreme. Illinois is billions in debt and they just want to keep spending more and more. Balanced budget is a pipe dream. I'm surprised they don't tax us to pee.

This state sucks... and I can't move out either - too old.

Come east to PA. We have the highest state gas tax in the USA. • State gas tax: 58.7 cents per gallon. We are paying close to $3.00

Not in PA now and paying $2.90 in northern Maine.

I hunt in southern Illinois, Hamilton county. And they are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Very conservative too, it's a shame that it's ran by the city liberals. I feel for you and hope it changes, I love the area and would live there if not for the state being ran by those whackos

Thanks Aaron. Here may be the biggest reason for not moving for me, most won't believe this. In the area I live in a trapper will not tramp on another trappers territory. So, we find a place we like, let's say NE Kansas, or N Central Missouri, or wherever. If we move there and it is in someone's territory, I won't tramp on them, therefore I have nowhere to trap. In just a handful of years we will be retired and it does not look like we will have the funds for me to trap far from home.

If you are young and live in a liberal state, LEAVE NOW!

You can come on down to NE Kansas and I can throw about as much land as you'd like to trap at you. I live about 40 miles north and have farmers begging me to drive down and kill coyotes/coons. At current prices and what I make for a living it just isn't worth it for me. Just sold my house to a gal and her dad was begging me to come pick off the pile of coons on their sileage piles every year.

ShawneeMan don't forget Blagojevich got one of his friends to install electric cables in one of the driveways of the mansions to melt off snow. Also a few years back the DNR director was using the state plane to take his family on vacation. He couldn't figure out what he did wrong. Also a few years ago a Gov. created a canoe czar to design water trails for canoes. His staff talked him out of it reason being the schools were broke.

I live in NYS...... talk about taxes. Gas is $2.84 here and I use 93 so I pay $3.41 a gallon. I live in Buffalo NY the farthest West in the state possible. Our politicians are straight up crooks. We have little representation due to NYC. I'm 27 now and I don't know how much longer me and the wife will be here. At least we have cheap housing and lots of jobs.... Gotta make the best out of the worst situations.

Thanks for the reminder... but on another note - at least we have an official State Pie.

Well I guess its true misery loves company. Our great machine in Chicago has shared our misery by mentoring Hillary and Obama so the rest of you all have shared somewhat in our misery too, lol.

May be I'm just an old fool but I have to believe there will be a separating of the sheep and goats one day.

Chicago was good for the Clinton's, Hillary's expert cattle tradings days was very lucrative until Refco went belly up. I remember at the time when she took her money and ran, some asked why she quit trading and she said it was too much stress while she was pregnant.

Seems after waking up this morning and checking some facts, I was wrong about the timing of Hilary saying she quit trading because of being pregnant, Refco didn't go busted til yrs later. Should have checked my facts before saying it. I know she said it just can't find the timing of it. So hope this edit clarifies a little and thought it better to edit it rather than just delete it.
