The wife and I had tickets for the Pittsburgh symphony last night so I figured we would go down early and spend the day in the city walking around browsing and eat at a couple different places. You know, make a nice day of it. Neither of us hardly ever go to the city we're country folk. We get there and park the car in the 6th street garage. When we come out, we see that they have the entire 9th street bridge closed with venders, people , live music all on it. Figured since we were there early, we will check it out. As we near this festival, I start noticing some real flaky looking people. All of a sudden, they seem to be everywhere. About a block away we are surrounded by weirdos and my wife finally realizes and remembers that it's Pittsburgh's Gay Pride festival! OH LORDY! We made a right hand turn and started walking up the block as neither of us had any intention of going to this. We went into a somewhat pricy bistro, got a bite to eat, a couple beers and began to window watch. I've never seen so many freaks in my life prancing around. Men in dresses, women in steel toed boots and coveralls with heads shaved. Rainbow stickers and flags everywhere. I wanted to spend a nice day in the city but instead I have to get this crap thrown in my face. When did being normal become the exception and being a freak become the norm?

I am definitely straight, white and a man. I believe everyone that knows me considers me a redneck. I can't stand nascar. I see people driving like idiots every day just looking through my windshield.
I think a straight redneck pride parade would be fun. All colors of human welcome just need to be heterosexual and redneck. Need to have a JAY OH BEE. Drive down Pennsylvania AV in pickups flying big American Flags. Have some shooting contests. Skeet ,trap, sporting clays, combat pistol, benchrest rifle, 1000 yard rifle, 22 silhouette, handgun silhouette and anything else anybody dreams up. make it an annual event with trophies to the winning shooters.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

For the next several years, I'll be reminding everyone on here that Finster attended the Gay Pride Festival in 2019.

For now on just go camping or something else you like during the month of June. June is pride month. It's been all over the news.

I haven't ever seen that either my wife and I married in June also. We will be spending our Aniversary weekend at the Idaho Trappers gathering - her choice of travel destination.

It's called diversity Linus! put down your blanket and wade in there LOL! I been called Redneck most my life along with lot other not so nice things..Went to one them Renaissance Festivals some years ago with my sister and younger brother.. Thought was going there see people play medieval knights an such..and did.. But also Walked around in there feeling like a turd in the punch bowl as they say.. Thought was in the middle biggest gay/ weirdo thing guy could be in..Also realized wasn't no one looking at me like didn't belong there?? makes ya start wondering who the weirdo is.. I know I could have easier walked into a biker bar felt at home...But anyway I don't get it all but also don't care no more.. Still would have probably walked threw your event just to people watch and see what the big deal was???

Think The Movie Mad Max! Probably where it will all end up..I'm already saving old foot ball pads and car, motor cycle parts. going need them to be dressed proper..

These "groups" want us to accept them for who they are. They want us to approve of who they are and who they have become. BUT........ they didn't accept who THEY were and changed themselves . They didn't accept themselves but we are supposed to accept them?????????? Would they accept or approve of me being a trapper or hunter???? I would guess no. If that's the life style they have chose, that's up to them. We all don't need to approve of it, just like they don't need to approve of my addiction for trapping. Just DON'T say we HAVE to approve of your lifestyle. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now.
