Wondering if anybody could help me figure out the value of this newhouse trap. Can't seem to find a guide online anywhere. Sorry for the poor picture. The jaws aren't toothed. [Linked Image]

Not an early trap. Made in teens or twentys. If it currently has factory Newhouse jaws with cast(not welded) teeth, they were added to a #4 trap.

Ive seen those Hudson Bay traps get 2-400.00. I have one that only has one spring and swingset chain on it, It was never set.

How many you want LJ?
Does yours have Made In Japan stamp?

I'd like to see yours if you go to convention.

Here is a good article on Newhouse traps. It relates primarily to bear traps but has information on how pans were stamped over the course of time. I have a #4 with a pan-break like yours but it doesn't have teeth.

Looks like yours dates from 1911-1925.

Maybe we are talking about 2 different traps. Mine is the beaver size model with double jaws and teeth with the option of single or long spring. I don't want any, I just keep an eye on them when they pop up on ebay and that is what they were getting.. I don't have it in front of me right now but I know the raised pan said made in USA. I may go, it all depends on what I have going on closer to that time. If I do, I will bring it.

Mine are 1 1/2 long size. Folks on here said worth 5-10, Tom P seen one, he said 30. These also came dbl spring, and some w teeth I was told. They make good trade trinkets.
Electrician gave me a 2 coil sg style, I have no clue on it.
I might see Tom and buy the book this time.

If looking for me, ask the turkey call guy or anyone from D2.
Over and out we derailed the guys topic enough lol.

It looks like the pan has a patent date of Sep 26.

Depending on who wants it bad enough...50-100 is what I’d value it at.
